New Swim Team Head Coach

Coach McCullough advocates for high-quality swim instruction and training that emphasizes stroke development, cognitive skills, and psychological training for all ages. She has authored a book entitled “A Season in USRPT: a 14 Week Primer for Coaches.” She serves as a mentor for coaches implementing Ultra Short Race Pace Training. Her past coaching experiences include Saint Maria Goretti, James Buchanan High School, Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, Waynesboro YMCA, Rockets Swimming, (a USA Swim Team, focusing on Senior Circuit high school swimming in South Central PA).


In 1986 she was the youngest swimmer to win the Senior National title in the 4 mile championship race and runner-up in the 1 mile. She was a three year letter winner at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg Pennsylvania. She received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy where she was a letter winner and member of the swim team for four years.


Coach McCullough lives in Mercersburg and her family operates Romeo’s, a pizza eatery. Her daughter, AB holds several CMY records and currently swims at Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in Software Engineering. Her son, Maxwell, is a freshman at Saint John’s College in Annapolis. Her youngest son, Thomas, is a freshman in high school at Saint James School in Hagerstown. Her family are members of St John’s Lutheran Church.
