Michaux Team Challenge – MTEC

A unique and challenging sprint adventure race.
The MTeC began in 2003 as a YMCA program for teens and adult mentors to work in an outdoor team building environment.  The course is run through the Michaux State Forest and Caledonia State Park.  Race distances will vary from year to year.  Teams will race anywhere from 3 to 6 hours over a variety of terrains.
The event is composed of hiking/trail running, mountain biking and paddling along with a variety of team challenges throughout the course. The MTeC race is always held the last Sunday of October and includes an outdoor Contemporary Worship Service prior to the event.  The race concludes with a catered meal and post-race awards ceremony.

5K Pump & Run - Adopt a Platoon

This year the YMCA is adopting a military platoon. On race day the Y will be accepting non-perishable food donations to send to the troops of the adopted platoon. Please feel free to donate food to the Y during the 5K Pump & Run in order to make a difference in the lives of our military personnel.

Power Pack Program

The Chambersburg YMCA has partnered with the Chambersburg Area School District and the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring to collect food donations. These donations are packed into back packs and distributed to the children of Chambersburg on Friday afternoons. Look for donation boxes located in the lobby, fitness center and the William K. Nitterhouse Family Program Center. The boxes contain suggested food item lists. Please feel free to take a list and help us make an impact in our community.

Shoes for Seeds

The Chambersburg YMCA has partnered with the MORE Foundation’s “Y’s of America Shoes for Seeds Program” to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. Please join us by donating your used (but not abused) athletic shoes. Donation boxes are located in the downstairs lobby of the YMCA and the lobby of the Program Center. Drop your athletic shoes in these boxes, and the Y will take care of the rest.
