New Chargers Head Swim Coach Announced

The Chambersburg Memorial Y is excited to announce the return of Coach Anthony Addlesberger as the Head Coach of the Chambersburg Chargers.  Addlesberger brings with him over 15 years of coaching experience, including ten with the Chargers; as well as stops in Chapel Hill, NC; Phoenixville, PA; and York, PA.  Coach Anthony most recently spent three years as the Head Coach at Phoenixville YMCA before joining York YMCA as an assistant coach this past season.

Coach Anthony AddlesbergerCoach Anthony prides himself on team building and athlete development.  Over the years, his athletes and teams have improved tremendously.  In Phoenixville, Addlesberger led the program to Bronze Medal status, ranking as one of the top 200 club teams in the country in USA Swimming’s Club Excellence Program.  Addlesberger has coached his athletes to multiple USA Swimming National Age Group top 10 rankings, All-Time Top 100 times, and Number One ranked times in the country.  He has coached multiple swimmers to YMCA National titles; as well as Junior and Senior National Qualifying Times, and an Olympic Trial Qualifying standard.  He is a big believer in coaching both culture and mindset and believes hard work, commitment, humility, and sportsmanship are crucial for success.

Coach Anthony and his family are incredibly excited to return home and rejoin the Charger family.  He will be joined by his wife Amanda; his three sons Jackson (6), Jordan (5), and Jeremiah (1); and his daughter Eleanor (3).  He is a passionate and enthusiastic father and husband; and is looking forward to developing and growing the Charger program to new heights.

Anthony will be taking on full time responsibilities as the Y’s Competitive Aquatic Director and Head Coach on May 23, 2022.  We will be working with him as he transitions and respectfully fulfils his commitments to the York Y.  Feel free to congratulate Anthony on his return.  Anthony’s email is aaddlesberger@chbgy.org.
